This little situation has been happening for awhile now. I haven't been able to locate the exact cause yet. There are times that I'll open the HTML Editor and click on "Open a Website Project" only to find two and once three of the same project in the list. When I open the Site's folder on Win Explorer, I can see two files one with the .CPF extension and another with a .CPFS extension. The .CPFS file has a newer date but I can't tell which is which in the Project list box since all that is listed is the file name with no extension. When I open the .CPF file in NotePad++ I see clear text:
Tacoma Games
Version=3
G:\Web Sites\Tacoma Highland Games
http:\\
7/1/2013 7:50:41 AM
NO
NO
YES
YES
*.html;*.htm;*.vtm;*.vtml;*.aap; (...this continues for what looks like 20 more file extensions)
When I open the .CPFS file in NotePad++ I see this rather confusing text:
TPFO(...ascii characters...)TSDriveManager(...ascii characters...)SDrives(...ascii characters...)
RememberLogin (...ascii characters...)SelectedSlugID(...ascii characters...)y(...ascii characters...)LoggedIn(...ascii characters...) TempSD_ID(...ascii characters...)TempSD_CreatedOn(...ascii characters...)TempSD_ExpiresOn(...ascii characters...)
Anyone had this happen? Which is the correct file? I'm not sure this is a bug in the Editor. I'm thinking there is something I'm doing that may be causing this?

I've seen the same. There you have another reason why I don't want to use the Project thingie.
I'm sure someone will chime in with an explanation, just hang on in here...

Hiya Rhubarb and Inger,
I'm not sure why you'd have more than 1 of each of the 2 diff files, but the difference is:
.cpf = HTML Editor project file
.cpfs = HTML Editor uploading to S-Drive project file.
You can delete one or the other if you don't need them, but they don't hurt anything to have them both at all. If you have duplicates of the same exact file, that would be interesting to hear about since you can't usually have duplicates of exactly the same name in the folders as they would overwrite each other. Let us know if that's the case or what the difference might be other than the 2 above.

I thought about the S-Drive but as far as I know, I didn't sign up for S-Drive and the two CPF files don't look alike. For now I guess I'll just open the web site folder and work from that and not use the Project selector.
Inger and Jo Ann, Thank you a lot. I wonder if Scott and company are aware of this?
Hiya Rhubarb,
The program automatically makes both files when you setup a Project. I guess that is just in case you decide to use it on S-Drive at all either at creation date or in the future so you don't have to setup a new project for it. It's done by design so ya they know it

Aw-righty then. Looks like I won't be using that feature of the Editor. Thanks Jo Ann. Much appreciated.

I'm very confused here rhubarb, you are saying you won't be using projects because it's making 2 files for them? Seriously? What am I missing here, because that makes absolutely no sense to me. When you create a project (any program would do this) it creates a file so it knows where to access that project again if your program is reinstalled etc. This way you can point to that folder and it will find that project file and repopulate your project list for you. Why is that a bad thing? And the other file can either be ignored or deleted, no big deal as it's for S-Drive and not needed.
What am I missing here that has you all upset?

I'm not upset, I made a a bad attempt to be humorous and it back fired and I apologize.
I made my decision because the project list displays two files and there is no distinction between them. In my case, they both say "Tacoma Games". I would've thought that maybe the "S" drive would have an indicator attached to it? something like: Tacoma Games(S). Interestingly, I have other web sites I maintain and they only have one listing.

I wish to go on record that I believe the HTML Editor is the best editor hands down. This is a minor issue and I was curious to know if it was by design or I had somehow done something to cause this.
