When using 2008 build 239 to edit php files some files become corrupted after saving this means I am looking for another option for editing files as I don`t trust 2008. This has cost me a lot of time working out why php script are not working after editing config files.

You can use notepad for now. Or if you want a free color coded editor, try http://www.chami.com/html-kit/download/.

Brian, I have edited a lot of php files with the html Editor, and had no problems. But then I'm using the code mode ONLY. It doesn't add or subtract anything by itself. I would not mix it with the visual mode, though.

I do only use code mode part of the problem seems to be with removing empty lines as one config php file had 250 or so lines as a un edited file the after changing one value and saving I realised it had about 150 lines ! so the script did a few odd things.
