Hi All,

I am using the old version of cc html CoffeeHTML2008R because the new version seems to be very slow.

I am using window 7 64 bit. It was also slow on XP 64 bit.

Any thoughts on how to fix this issue.

Thanks,
Jim

I think you might just have a bad download. I have windows 7 64bit and it works fine.

A bad download would result in the file not extracting and not installing at all. Have you tried running the software in compatibility mode? There are several discussions about this sprinkled throughout the forum so an answer might lie there as well.

Thanks guys for the feedback. I have not tried the compatibility mode yet but I will give it a shot. I will also try finding some of the other discussion boards as you mentioned.

Thanks again!

I have the same problem with Windows 7 32 bit. It worked ok at first but started coming up with fkloating popint errors due to Adobe (the page has embedded audio) but it startts slow, takes 25 seconds to insert an image ort sound file and up to 45 seconds to open the initial prgam. And same problem with saving files. I found a copy of their 2006 demo version and it works ok. The 2010 SE version has been downloaded again and there is NO change. There where other annoyances such as the scrolling down the lines of text where sow and you had to wait for the software to catch up. Now, IE 8 is exceptionally slow and I wonder if there is a common connection, but I am really concidering dumping this softwae and installing Microsoft Front Page. A restore of Windows 7 will fix it, but no other independent applications are affected, just coffee Cup. Should I shoot it now?

It may of course be due to a bad download. What you can do is uninstalling the CC Editor, do a reboot and install it again. Before you reinstall you could try cleaning your system with a free little prog. called Ccleaner (actually 'CrapCleaner, pardon my French) from piriform.com.

If this doesn't help, it's likely to be something in your system. You could open a support ticket with CC to get more expert help. See support link at the top of this page.

Whatever you decide, I strongly advise against FrontPage. It is now an old programme, with old standards. Even Microsoft has dumped it.

You may also need to be sure you're running it in Administrator setting. I have found that some of the CC programs need it and some don't. I too am on Windows 7 32bit and I've just made a point of setting most things to run as administrator so I don't have to mess with it lol. I would follow what Inger said for sure too.

Funny about this particular problem. Sometimes it will work ok and at other times it will not. But there are times when I preview a html file with embedded audio, it will come up with a floating point error and the second time I preview, it comes up with a message that it can not write to the file. When the second message apprears, it will not write the TMP file and you don't see any changed but if youe it and upload it to the server, the changes are made in the saved HTML file. I am going to run CC in Admiistrator mode and hopfully like Microsoft Office, one time will get rid of the problem. I also wonder how much CC HTML editor relys on my default web browser because IE 8 is as slow as me first thing in the morning!

Hiya Lawrence,

I don't know what the error things are you're having, but I can answer the IE8 question. It relies on it completely. IE is the default internal browser system that HTML Editor uses for all previewing (other than when you open the preview in a browser yourself where you can open other browser windows and preview it). The preview tab is based on the IE engine so if you're like me and you use Firefox as your default browser, it may not always be exactly the same so it's best to view it in the Preview window and in another browser like Firefox if you're trying to correct an issue or to make sure it all looks right.
