Same here, set up the folder first in My Docs, then save all web stuff to it. ;)

update: I thought Paul had pinpointed the problem that something else was accessing the file because when I shut down Explorer I was able to save my index page. I was all excited, spent about half an hour making updates to the page and went to save it -mind you still with everything else closed- and it wouldn't save again LOL So, whatever the issue is it seems to be intermittent with sometimes it will save, sometimes it won't. I've rebooted CC several times to see if maybe that was the issue, but no, it was still a case of sometimes yes, sometimes no.
I'm afraid my blonde roots are showing when it comes to understanding about what a couple people have mentioned with moving the placement of my folder I am saving in ... it is a folder on my desktop since I do access it often, well when I can edit I access it often as the page I am working on is for the kids' 4-H market hog project so I am forever needing to add pictures and updates from several different kids as they send me stuff. But, if I'm understanding correctly I should drag the entire folder and drop it in My Documents instead of having it in My Desktop ???
Thank you everyone for trying to help me figure this out, I appreciate it! I am so lost on the combo of Win8 and no CC haha

Hi Melody, have you tried the option of creating a new project in CC? You can choose what folder it saves to by opening CC Editor, going to "My Websites" and then "New Website Projects" , it will auto -access your files through the menu on the left hand side. This is just a shot in the dark but I think that may help the issue if your folders and files aren't opening correctly. :/

Also, try rebooting your computer, that will sometimes fix issues with files being used by other things, especially if you're one of those people that let your computer run for days and days without a reboot :P If not, can't hurt to try it unless you've already tried that, that is :)

I would definitely suggest opening a support ticket with CoffeeCup to see if they can help you figure out what the Save issue is as most of us haven't had that issue with the HTML Editor. I've heard of the VSD program doing that a while back, but don't think I've had that issue with the HTML Editor ever. They should be able to help you figure that out and get things working for you. You can access that with the Account area at the top right of the screen.
Click Account, then click Your Support Room and put in a Support Topic for them. They will most likely request you to send them information about your system, so best to put as much information in the Support Topic as you can. Good luck on it :)

Jo Ann is right, maybe it's time to open a CC Ticket and let them handle it, their pretty swift with replies unless they find it's a dev problem, but that's probably your best option right now.

thanks, Jo Ann. I did actually open a ticket when I posted here, but since it was over the weekend I am sure it may take a little while for them to get back to me
