Unfortunately I'm also an avid CC user with the HTML Editor, so I don't know a lot of other ones out there currently that aren't overly expensive.

I guess the only thing I can suggest at this point John, is to also put in a Support Ticket to CC and see if they might have some ideas. They can sometimes come up with some pretty creative things, and know a lot more about the workings of systems and what other things might be conflicting etc. than I do.

I do wish you luck on it though, I feel your pain as well, being an HTML Editor junkie is hard to get around when it's giving issues. Let us know what was wrong when you do get it working if you would please and good luck

I can't really add anything new to this problem except perhaps reformatting your system!

Or one thing which I don't see in the previous suggestions: downloading a fresh copy of the Editor, uninstall the one you have, clear out all the CoffeeCup folders and registry entries, reboot - and then install the new copy.

We know that the latest version of the Editor works on all current Windows systems, thousands are using it successfully, but it could be remainders of an old installed version that is blocking something. Like e.g. from WinVista onwards all the user folders are created in MyDocuments, not in the Program Files\CoffeeCup software any more. Maybe there is a problem with that on your system?

Mind you, if you do clear out everything CoffeeCup, make sure you have backed up your user files first!

I did what Inger suggested. . Uninstalled using Revo with advanced scan setting, Deleted all leftovers, ran a Registry clean, Re-booted, downloaded a new copy of CC (build 369 I think) and installed that. I've never put my user files in the CC folder..that is so DOS...They live in Docs in their own dir and have for years.

Tried the program w/o using any compatibility or DEP settings and was again re-visited by the Ghost of Constant Loading. Unusable.

I set the compatibility to where it works best and also turned on DEP for CC and the ghost visits only occasionally. HOWEVER... now CC has decided to make every file last 8 seconds. I mean EVERY time I hit Ctrl S or Save As (many, many, many times a day) CC freezes for 8 seconds and then my file is saved and I can get back to work... 8 Seconds by my 1 Mississippi - 2 Mississippi count...Oh...also it has started every once in a while popping a Windows alert box up that complains it cannot create the file.

Getting real tired of this crap, I can tell you. Actively looking for a new HTML editor. Will settle for a new job tasting alcoholic beverages.

P.S. If I weren't so darn lazy, I'd save all my crud out, format and re-install WIn7 and I MIGHT have even downgraded to 32bit, but as I said...I am lazy...and it's the holidays and who needs to be re-building a system.

Sometimes it comes to a point where a format is the only option. I know for me, I can format and restore my operating system in under an hour. I have found that instead of spending days trying to get something to work, it is just faster to bite the bullet and format.

What program are you using to format and restore in under an hour?
Is this just the operating system? Or are you restoring all your programs as well?
Just curious, I have a system I need to do that to and it looks like a daunting task I'm not very eager to get into.

It takes about 30 minutes to install Windows. I have an external USB drive that contains all my documents and software that I use. I select all the applications simultaneously on the drive and launch the installers. Just rapidly click NEXT, NEXT and Finish and each program is installed. Since the documents will always stay on the drive, once my applications are installed, I am done.

I tried your method of installing things, it didn't work lol, too many programs trying to run at the same time locked me up 2 times so I gave up lol. I guess I'm going back to XP sucks, but this windows 7 is giving me way too many memory or video hassles, not sure which, but seems like both. Probably my machine is just too old to handle it I won't be doing that till after the 1st though, vacation coming in a couple days till the first of the year so it will just have to wait lol.

Wish I knew if it's a possible bad install of Windows, but i dunno if I have enough patience to install it and wait to find out lol just to have to redo it back to XP in the end anyways.... we'll see

I already have too much gear that I need to lug around the world...well, mostly the Caribbean, but we were in Tahiti & Bora Bora last Feb...for work. I need all my crud to fit on my laptop and don't need yet another, even tiny, piece o'gear to pack, lug, watch and take care of.

I am glancing at "The Cloud" for a solution but not ready to go there yet.

I can see in an office environment how a USB disk with all my crud hooked up to a nice box would be great...in fact, I'd have two machines...one virgin box, newly formatted and chomping at the bit to be used...and the other one, which I'd be working on would slowly be filling up with junk, crap, dumps, spam and other detritus that Windows <insert version nr./name here> collects and uses to bog the machine down so we'll just give up in frustration and either buy a new machine or upgrade Windows to the Next, Very Best Version Ever.
Instead of chucking the box out the window or feeding it slowly to the garbage disposal, it'd be un-hooked from the USB disk, moved to the quarantine area and brutally formatted. Then the other one would be welcomed to the work desk and it would start the inevitable decline into un-usability. Deep Sigh. Just a pipe-dream. Sorry for rambling on...but I was waiting for a file to finally save in CC. :-)

Seriously...any jobs tasting alcohol out there?
