Just started out with my Coffee Cup 2010.
Opened an asp-file to check how CC is handling it, switching to Visual Editor and back.

and..
CC had deleted all the asp and inserted:
<html>
<head>
<title></title>
<meta content="text/html; charset=unicode" http-equiv="Content-Type"/>
<meta name="generator" content="CoffeeCup HTML Editor (www.coffeecup.com)"/>
</head>
<body></body>
</html>

(This was a include-page, and should not have meta-data)

Have I just wasted $50, or is there a way to keep CC from ruining my files?

Did you get a warning that by switching between html and WYSIWYG modes, the editor may change your code?
CoffeeCup... Yeah, they are the best!

Yes, it did. I didn't read the fine print, but thought it was only smaller changes of characters and such.

Are there any options I can turn of?

AND did you not take the software for a test drive BEFORE you paid $50 on it? CC offers fully functional trial versions for FREE!

Well, yes, I had tried it, but the trial-period had experienced. Well, didn't trial enough maybe.

Anyway, is html-editor up for serious work, or is it just for beginners?
Can it handle include-files, php and asp?
Can I turn of the auto-nuke page function?

The HTML editor is fine as long as you remain in code mode. You can preview your site without entering into the WYSIWYG mode.

Well, no point in getting more than the free version then..
My reason for buying was that using a WYSIWYG comes very handy from time to time (lists, national characters, paragraphs, longer chunks of text..)

BTW: I was hoping the Code Cleaner would be useful as well,
as I like to get things sorted and indented.

However, it to, adds html, head, tittle and body tags. How do I turn that off?

Have something to add? We’d love to hear it!
