A direct, One time, instant...
Hello,
If this is not possible, or seems silly then no worries...........
I have to upload a LOT of files on a regular basis, and it would be so nice to have
a 'button' behind which I can setup a web site directory, and upload immediately without having
to go down a list to select, in my case, \htdocs on my website.
What I am describing is a one time instant command to upload, no questions asked.....
Sorry if this seems daft
Regards
Peter

Not a daft question at all Peter,
Do you use the upload system built into the Projects setup of the HTML Editor? If not I would highly recommend it. This way you can setup the tree so it mimics the same directory tree of your server. That allows you to just right click a file and choose upload to server. All done. You can setup the server part of the HTML Editor to tell it what directory is your remote directory so you don't have to always navigate to that directory at all. You can also highlight multiple files or folders and upload them all at the same time which helps with mass uploads that way.
Just keep in mind to setup your local directories to have the same tree structure. Doesn't matter where they reside on your computer as long as you tell it which directory is the default root directory for your project's local folder and then which is the uploads directory. Once this is setup if you:
Upload an image inside an images folder it will send it to an images folder on your server (mirroring your local setup).
Very slick way of uploading your files and right at your fingertips

Hi Jo Ann,
Yes, at the moment I use the upload facility built into CoffeeCup HTML Editor.
I can select one, or multiple files, from the left side of my screen, I then right click and 'upload', its then I have to navigate along a couple of drop down menus, and eventually select htdocs.....
This is fine... But I just thought it would be nice to be able to hit one button............. Job done!
No navigation or anything. I am lazy, but when you upload so many files, it can be bind.....
So many people seem to be looking at the site and sending photos, and I am getting feedback on all my 'MISTAKES'. All good stuff though.
Yes, I have mirrored my hard drive and website, and it works really well, though I still
have to navigate to the htdocs directory..

Hiya Peter,
I'm guessing that you either don't have the ftp part of the HTML Editor setup correctly, or you have something strange going on that I've never seen happen. When I right click on any file in the tree on the left side that shows all my files of my currently opened project, it uploads it to whatever directory I have setup in the FTP area of my project settings. I don't ever get anything making me choose where to send it, so I'm going to assume you don't have the FTP setup correctly.
If you are finding that you need to navigate it somewhere, it may be that the FTP setup is not sure where to start. If all your items will be going to one directory or another that resides in the htdocs directory, then you should put the htdocs directory into the pathway of your FTP setup.
Not sure what else to tell you on it, but I do know it's definitely not working like it should. You should be able to just right click and upload instantly to the exact same directory on your server.
If you check the settings and can't get it to work right, and if no one else comes up with something, then I would suggest opening a Ticket with Support so they can help you get the FTP setup correctly providing that is the problem. Good luck with it

You should setup a Website Project then. That is what this feature was designed for.

Thankyou, I think I should...
I haven't experimented with that and I can see now that its what I need to do.
As always I suppose, I start with a small idea and it balloons.......
The site has got bigger than I ever imagined, its basic and its down to
the ease of use of CoffeeCup, that has enabled me to start writing it from scratch.
I have learnt how to do the site using your program over a long time, and sometimes its easy to
be stuck in a mode......
Thanks for the great job you all have done, and the help you have given
