The Great Mysterious Missing Folders...

Hi again and my apologies Scott for another long post.

I have just discovered something very weird.

Please check the side by side images provided and notice that my WebSites folder (highlighted) is missing from the DirectFTP local view (on the right). Most strange. I can type in the path and go there fine, but it just doesn't show in the panel view. The folder is a subfolder of my Documents folder, as are all the others, and they show up OK, except you will notice, another 'My Web Sites' folder I don't use (installed by Microsoft Expression Web 3) and a shortcut to a remote desktop session. Most odd. I cannot surf to any of these folders using any of the folder/level up or down navigation methods because for all intents and purposes DirctFTP considers these folders do not exist.

For those who care I don't use any folder password-protection or specific folder views or anything fancy like that, just a standard install of Vista Business 32, which seems to break CC software.

Anyway, I can work around it but it is annoying as that folder contains all my websites so it is just about the only folder on my machine I need to get to, and it is missing in action somewhere! (With all due respect to those who are MIA - You are Not Forgotten).

I am thinking perhaps it is something to do with user profiles and folders.

Dave.

Dave, please give me a little bit of time to look into this. I want to research this a bit more before I offer any suggestions/opinions.

Hey Dave, can you do this for me please. I need to get a log file from you so we can see what is going on.

1. Select the Direct FTP desktop icon and hold down the Shift key while double-clicking with your mouse. (Note: The Direct FTP icon must be located on your desktop. If it is not, move it there.)

2. A window will pop up. Make a note of the path that appears in it, and then select Yes.

3. Direct FTP will open. Try to connect to your server again and close the program.

4. Go to the path you made a note of, and send the log file to scott@coffeecup.com

Thank you,
Ken :)

Nothing happened, it just got lost in the mists of time. None of the 'special' exe files sent to me ran as anticipated so no logging was done hence no resolve.

I think something might be happening with it soon, like a new version, or maybe it is just a sales bundle special hinted to in an email I received recently. I doubt it is an update since they come in very infrequently for DirectFTP.

Dave.
