Hey guy's, just a quick question for you all .. what does your ftp look like? Mine is kind of sloppy right now and I need some suggestions, because I have lots of graphics i'm working with for a friends website, is it easier just to create folders for images.. .html files.. what should I stack together and what not? Suggestions please, all in fun!! Thx :D

Your directory structure is up to you but keeping consistent structure will make it easier to keep track of and solve problems. Images in image folder css sheets in css and pdf's in pdf are just a few examples. The projects setup in the html editor really makes this easy.
I can't hear what I'm looking at.
It's easy to overlook something you're not looking for.

A typical structure for a website might not be the same as for a temp directory holding things you're doing for others. But... here's what I would do:

folders for the typical files to start with:

images
js
css

You "can" put the html files in a folder too, but that entails more work for the links so that's up to you. I would do it if you have more than 15 html pages, but not for less than that.
At one time I was moving the .cpf files to a single location on my local drive, but have since left them within their respective projects. Those files don't need to be uploaded really. If you're using VSD at all then that program I believe will upload it's files how it needs them.

Then if you're working on a temporary site for someone that will be hosted somewhere else, create a directory for that site and then put the same type if folder listing as above in their folder for their items.

This keeps all things separated that you want separated, keeps their stuff together and your stuff together.
That's what I would do anyways :)

Ok cool thank you Jo Ann, I will probably integrate this structure in my next website, or clean up my current ones cause my sites are messy right now.. :D
