FTP or Vista Issue

I am running Vista 64 bit on my home machine. At work, I started a shopping cart. I put my ssc file up on my server and when I went home I brought it down by ftp. I saved it in my working directory. However, when I look in the directory with 'my computer' the directory is empty. I also downloaded several jpg files and html files at the same time. Nothing shows up in 'my computer', but when I go to html editor, or shopping cart I can see the files and open them. I tried everything. Is this a rights issue or something like that? Also when I tried to open my scc file in shopping cart it could not open and the message was that it was corrupt. Are there other files I have to take with me or just the scc file?

Thanks for your consideration.

Wish I could remember where I've posted this reply to previous similar problems. I'd bet that this is a Vista Issue. You transfered this from some other drive source to your Vista machine (like the Internet), right? So Vista, in it's attempt to 'save your computer from yourself' has tucked this away in a "virtual folder" under the Vista "Compatibility Mode". Well, that's my guess anyway :/

When you navigate (using Windows Explorer) to the folder where your files should be, look for the words "Compatibility files" and select to show them.

Now copy those items to a folder you YOU create on your Vista machine. Now those files should show up in that new folder. If you need them back in your original location, create a backup of that folder (so Vista doesn't goof up your files) and then delete the 'copatibility' section or rename that folder. Now you can move one of the good folders to that location and change the name or re-name it to what you wanted in the first place.

If that's not the case, then I'm out to lunch and you are back in the same boat.
