I today bought the big cup. A return customer and believer in your software but........

The issue is the new FTP 6.5 client has some serious flaws and continually locks up my system. I have been a big fan and user of coffee cup since I started designing my forensic companies pages.

I haven't even used this new client successfully once. I was using the FTP 6.2 all morning with no issues.

I am running Win XP SP3 and I have no problem with my old CC FTP v. 6.2

I hope you guys will get this fixed soon.

Thanks for the reply Scott I will try a reinstall today.

I am on my IBM laptop right now and I will try and install it on this machine too.

I should mention that I downloaded the beta test version of this when you released it a few months ago. I had the exact same issue then.

Since then I have reinstalled the OS and this non beta is doing the same thing.

I am able to use other FTP clients including CC 6.2 with no issues at all.

OK, I installed the newest non beta on the laptop this morning. I let the install to un-install the beta at the prompt. The beta test was on this PC as well. This IBM is also running XP SP3.

The install went smooth and the new version copied all of my server passwords and location info.

On the first try I got into a server but immediately got a Norton warning.

I captured this image:

I clicked always allow and then got this warning from XP firewall:

Again I clicked always allow.

I was able to connect to my servers and tested a few. However everyone had an average wait to connect time of between 30 and 35 seconds. The computer would be non responsive. It seemed extremely slow compared to the old version which was virtually instantaneous.

The new 6.5 version seems very very slow but it is working on my IBM T40. Even once connected it takes 20 seconds to open a folder. It has to be some communication problem in the code??

I tested the old 6.2 and it is lightning fast on this same machine. I am going to stick to using this one for now I guess.

I will try a reinstall of 6.5 on the main system here in a little bit.

Well, I tried un installing and re installing 6.5 on the main system.

I even disabled all security software to keep it from interfering with the install.

I was able to log on after a long wait. And then tried navigating into folders and again a 30 second wait.

On the second server it locked up the system.

I got the (Coffee Cup FTP (Not Responding) at the top of the page. Hourglass is still there and program is still hung. The only way to disable it is looking like a reboot.

I could not shut it down even with ctrl alt delete. I waited and then got this error:

szAppName : DirectFTP.exe szAppVer : 6.5.5.62 szModName : hungapp
szModVer : 0.0.0.0 offset : 00000000

C:\DOCUME~1\A\LOCALS~1\Temp\WER03b8.dir00\DirectFTP.exe.mdmp
C:\DOCUME~1\A\LOCALS~1\Temp\WER03b8.dir00\appcompat.txt

Frustrating because the old 6.2 has no problem going in navigating or any other aspect.
