Hi,

I'm a regsistered user of 6.2 and wanted to try out 6.5 but there is no option for regsitered users to upgrade yet.

So, when trying out the trial version the installer fails to open "h:\CFGS\ie\AppData\CoffeeCup SoftwarezDFTP2.lic" (twice) and says licence expired after install.

I have full admin rights to this folder and can open and edit the file manually. It reads:

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<data>
<trial softwareID="DFTP2" version="6.5.3" daysUsed="0" date="06/16/2008 08:43:06" activated="0" installDate="06/16/2008 08:43:06"/>
</data>

Best regards - Adam.

I have no file 'CoffeeCup SoftwarezDFTP2.lic' anywhere on my computer, but I'm running the most recent beta of DFTP without problems.

To which drive have you actually installed the DFTP? If not to the default location, which is c:\program files\CoffeeCup Software\DirectFTP-6.5.3\, you should try that.
Ha en riktig god dag!

Err yes, I am aware of what beta software is.

I assumed you'd want to know about any bugs, hence my post.

There's an obvious typo in my original post but the error actually refers to:

"h:\CFGS\ie\AppData\CoffeeCup Software\DFTP2.lic"

The sofwtare was installed on all default settings and locations (ie it is in C:\Program Files..) and on XP Pro.

Like many large institutions our user app settings are stored server-side to enable roaming, hence AppData is on drive H for all staff and students.

It works on a standalone machine - I suspect the path to the licenece file is set to an absolute location by mistake or something similar...

Have something to add? We’d love to hear it!
