Cannot access my server after FTP upload

Dear Support Team,

I've happily used your wonderful Coffee Cup FTP (now Ver 6.9) for many years.

Yet about 1/2 the time, after uploading a file or two to our family Web host server, neither Coffee Cup FTP nor our 3 PCs at home can any longer access our own family site or the main site of our domain company which is IGC -- http://www.igc.org/

Again tonight, after uploading one change to our Web page, I can no longer access any page on our site or even the IGC domain site itself using either IE or Mozilla.
All other Web sites come come up normally.

This is true of two desktop PCs connected directly to our Linksys 2.4 GHz router, and a third PC that's wireless in another room.

It is NOT true with our Apple iPad that is wireless, which does continue to access the main IGC site and our family site at this moment.

In the past, everything has worked after waiting a number of hours -- often overnight -- as when waking up in the morning.

With your experience, we wonder if you have any clues that might keep us from losing access to our Web server domain after uploading with Coffee Cup FTP.

Any insights would be so appreciated.

Gratefully,

I cannot check your family site since I don't have a link to it, but I can access the IGC site with Chrome, IE10 and Firefox. A screenshot of the Chrome window is attached. Is this what you cannot see from your end?

In the past, everything has worked after waiting a number of hours -- often overnight -- as when waking up in the morning.

Do you mean that normally after uploading a change to your site, you need to wait overnight before the changes show up? The changes should be essentially instantaneous. Maybe you just need to refresh your browser (i.e. empty the cache by pressing F5 on your keyboard).

Maybe I'm misunderstanding what you mean by not being able to access your site?

Further to what per says , may be interpreting differently ,

Every time i edit my websites built with CC VSD i have to refresh every page by using Ctrl + F5

Prior to doing this i often see the earlier pages, or a complete jumbled up mess

However with one website i have hosted with a different hosting company i often find the edits do not appear as you say often till 24 or 48 hours later, and its on a cheap hosting so i guess it is to do with the hosting companies set up

a link to your personal site, and the hosting company name may help someone to resolve for you
Started using CC VSD in January 2009, I don't do HTML code, Sales from CC site exceeding expectations taken me out of semi-retirement

The fact that the Apple iPad can access the site tells me there is nothing wrong with cc FTP. As the others suggested it may be a matter of refreshing your browser, though that should not keep the FTP program from accessing the site. You might download *a different ftp program* (Edited out originally posted link to competitive software, please try not to post links to software that CC sells too)
and try it. Also, is your server a Linux base or Windows? Really sounds as if it's something to do with the server.

Thank each of you.

I did indeed return to my Web site provider to ask why I was blocked from accessing my site or any domain of theirs for several hours after FTP uploading a file to my site -- http://traubman.igc.org/

My provider's site is http://www.igc.org/

They have made an adjustment in their FIREWALL, and that seems to correct the problem. I hope this information is useful to others.
