Yahoo is moving to FTPS and sent out instructions on using this with other web design packages. Does VSD support FTPS? Has anyone else seen this note? What do we need to do within VSD?

VSD does not support sFTP or FTPs. When they make the switch, you will no longer be able to publish through VSD directly. What you would have to do is you an FTP program to upload your website files manually each time you make changes.

You should check out our FREE S-Drive service that is fully integrated into Visual Site Designer. You would then not have to worry about sFTP or FTPs uploading.

1. First, you need to create your S-Drive Account

2. Go to Publish > CoffeeCup Account Settings and enter in your CoffeeCup account information

3. Go to Publish > Choose a Publishing Destination and select your S-Drive account

4. Click Publish

If you like what you see, you can even point your very own domain name over to your S-Drive account as well.

Enjoy!

I guess it's time to get off my lazy butt and make the move to my SDrive acct. :P

Is there a plan to make Direct FTP compatible? I already pay to have a domain and to use S-Drive is not free for the amount of data that I have stored in my files. I'm not clear from the posted directions; will I be able to upload via my S-Drive account and then delete that data on S-Drive to stay with data limits once it's in my Small Business Account? Otherwise, Coffeecup will become useless to me. Thanks!

It's easy to sit there and wish you had more money; I guess that's what I like about it. It's easy sitting there, wanting that money.

Direct FTP already has support for sFTP, FTPs and other protocols.

Hi! Are there any specific directions posted on your website how to set up DirectFTP for Yahoo's new FTPS servers? I fiddled with the settings per Yahoo's drections for other FTP transfer programs like Filezilla and couldn't get it to connect. Thanks

All you need to do here is in DirectFTP edit your FTP settings for Yahoo. Click the "More options" link and for Protocol, change that to sFTP.

Thanks for the prompt reply. I used the drop down list to choose SFTP over SSH, but just give "connecting" message for a few minutes, never connects. Any changes to the ports or domains, etc. needed?
Thanks

You may have to ask Yahoo. It could be sFTP is not enabled for your account. They can also give you the exact settings.

Has there been any change to whether or not VSD will support FTPS? I just got hit with the Yahoo switch.

Have something to add? We’d love to hear it!
