I am building a new site in VSD and when I go to preview the home page most of my images are not displaying properly and have an 'X' in the upper left hand corner of the image. Most of the images where put into a shape box using fill > add image file. How can I correct this? I had this happen on one of my published sites and even when published the 'X' shows on the images. Obiviously I keep making the same mistake..... Thanks for your help!! :)

Do the x show on the image or instead of the image?

On the site that I am building now it is whiting out the picture and putting the 'X' in the corner. I attached a picture of what it looks like.

In the published site (http://www.sacredhearthattiesburg.org/P … uncil.html) it shows the image with the 'X' in the corner.

The x means that you have your images in a different directory than you are listing.

Different directory than I am listing??? Please explain. I don't think that I am doing anything different than I normally do and I normally don't have this problem. Thanks

Well I guess the difference would be on whether you copy/pasted the image in VSd or used the picture toll. If you used the picture tool to add the image Melanie then the images used would be located in the files folder, , so the X would represent the images not being there. the copy and paste thing then you would need to use the "add files" option and load the images that way, so they will show up.

All the images seem to be there.
But look at the attached screenshot of how badly placed I am seeing your text on Firefox - 1440 x 900 resolution.

They look fine in FF but the picture appears but has the little red x in the corner of it in IE so I don't think it is a folder issue as the images are being found.
I know you believe you understand what you think I said...but I am not sure you realize that what you heard is not exactly what I meant.

On my new project (that's not published yet) where I am getting the 'X' on my images in the preview screen..... is the fact that the images are overlapping and have effects on most of them have anything to do with my problem?? I did use the image tool to get the images on there and then I added effects to most of them. Attached is a picture of what I am talking about. Also, Janys pointed out that on my other site how my text was not showing correctly for her.... I format my sites using 1024x800. Any suggestions for that issue to get a more uniform veiwing??

I believe it has something to do with how you incorporated the image into VSD and how VSD handles files and uploads everything.

The image properties for the image (X) that can't be found is:

The image properties for the Jesus image that does display is:

Are they the same image?

Not a complete solution to the problem but perhaps it's a start.

CoffeeCup... Yeah, they are the best!
