Wrong font size VSD 7.0 - Post ID 198593

Hi

I have upgraded from v6 to v7.0 build 24 recently and have just uploaded to my site for the first time since the upgrade.

I changed a tiny portion of one file, but all of my pages online have a much smaller font than before. It looks perfect in VSD. It just looks wrong in both Chrome and Internet Explorer.

A similar site, with a different branding, has not yet been changed, and remains perfect.

What has happened, and how can I fix it?

Thanks

Hi Simon,

You can't fix it. The cause is the different way VSD 7.0 handles text objects compared to 6.0. It is less WYSIWYG, but 7.0 creates much better HTML compliant code (for instance, handles strange foreign characters like ë or î -strange to non-US or GB citizens-, the so-called diacritics or internationally used characters way better. So work around it, adapt your VSD design to make it look good in all browsers and always preview in as much browsers as possible.

Hi John,

Thanks for the information.

That seems totally crazy, given that I bought VSD because of the WYSIWYG nature of it. And to reduce the software's ability to produce results in a browser compared to the editor between version updates is bonkers.

So, I have to just guess text sizes and layouts and see how they preview?

Crazy.

Can I go back to v6?

Hi Simon,

If you still have the VSD 6.0 setup file, you can go back of course.

And it's not totally cazy. In other aspects of WYSIWYG behavior VSD scores better. And one advice: avoid 10 px character size in a text field. Strange results.... Someday we'll get the relative size (+1, +2 and so on) back, at least I hope so...
