The 'image tutorial' says to just browse your computer and chose the image. Is this wrong?? Please explain if I am not understanding correctly!

If you remember to 'Add file(s)', the files will all be copied to the correct folder.

Regarding how to add image files -- this thread is nearly a month old, but perhaps it is worth add this info (to muddy the water?). I posed the same question to Coffee Cup tech support and the answer was: Use the add image button and all will be well. No need to use Settings>Add file. So that's what I do and they end up in the Files folder.

What I find frustrating is that every time I save the site while tweaking it, each iteration is saved as a separate image file, sometimes with a scrap of background color. Nothing is overwritten. The result is a huge Files folder full of unneeded images.

Hmm. That is an interesting situation. I am pretty sure the reason is because VSD does not overwrite when you upload, but only detects the changes that need to occur. This may be a feature that the programmers will have to look at.

I wish the programmers would rethink this. The superfluous images seem to be embedded even though they do not appear on the preview site. I have manually removed them from the Files folder but when I next save the site, they have come back home to roost. If I did use the extra steps of Settings>Add file, then I could use Settings>Remove file and that might work. Takes a lot of time, though. So I have many MB to place on the server that I don't use.

Every once in a while I get ambitious and delete all of them, or at least the larger ones. They "breed" like cockroaches though - it's easy to get an infestation every time you make a few changes!

Usually the add images button. I've learned not to copy/paste images with effects on them - that's how you end up with all those weird image files that have pieces of background on them.
Now I usually try to set up a "master page" with the logo and any other graphics and text, then copy that for each new page. then I add images for each page as needed. It helps to keep the garbage files from taking over.

I've only used the settings>add files when the images are part of a script (like a slide-show).
