Is there a way to get text in VSD to turn out smooth? or do you need to do that is Paint Shop Pro and make it a Jpeg and then import the Jpeg into VSD?

What do you mean by smooth? Have you tried using the Advanced Text feature?

and yes.. I am using advanced text. I am not trying to be a ballbuster.. just trying to understand what I might be doing wrong

Probably has to do with anti-aliased fonts. PhotoShop supports that, but VSD does not.

This new site I am working on is www.topshelfsexy.com , the terms of use page has good smooth fonts.. but just the hope page text didn't.. BUt.. I can fake it by doing a screen shot.. and then putting the text over the image.. and making it a grphoc .. and then putting the graphic over the area where the box goes.. making it all look smooth..

Same technique as for the terms of use page.. the grey box don't go all the way down.. it's actually 2 boxes I made.. I did screen shots and covered up the part where the first box ends and the last box begins.. to give the illusion of one long ass box that the text could fit on..

The last site, you remember, www.lakehavasupoledancer.com is being run by the owners now. I set them up to where they could add to photo album files I created.. and they just add the photos with instructions from camera.. to pix converter.. to photo album.. to website..
