When getting this error are they followed by any numbers or anything, seems I had a problem when installed on my second drive and not C. But Coffeecup tries to duplicate a problem, and if they can't then they or anyone else can come up with a solution, nobody really knows why this happens, but I have to say that CC will do everything to try and fix it.
Sure others had this problem, and haven't said how it was overcome, maybe it just went away. You may have to go by process of elimination. for instance without changing anything, just start to make a new site, do 1 page at a time, for now don't add anything to the site your working on or remove just use the non-site. add images to one page and some text, save it as test site for example. leave it set over night then open that site and see if it happens, if not add somemore, pactice whatever save it and leave it a couple hours and go back to it and check again. try and find at what point it starts and was what was added or removed. is it your anti virus software, well just an idea instead of just waiting. sorry not much help.

Well, I tried the idea of making sure that nothing was hanging over the edge and it seemed to make no difference at all, so I guess that was not the problem. Thanks for the idea though.

As for the other option of recreating the website - I have to let you know that I find this to be an unacceptable "solution". First of all, how do I know I won't do all that work only to have the exact same problem since I would be adding all the same information back in. I have already wasted enough time dealing with this. As far as I am concerned, the current version I have is worthless since I can't get anything to work.

I don't know why no one will tell me what the "issue" is - only that it is fixed for version 6.

So, I guess that since you already have my money, my only choice is to wait for the update and keep my fingers crossed that the problem really is fixed and I won't have this problem anymore.

I guess it doesn't hurt to ask one more time - What is the "issue"?

There is no way to provide step by step instructions for 5.9.4 users as it has something that is not user fixable. It is something corrected within the software. The only immediate work around is to delete the page that is causing the issue and re-creating it. The other alternative is using our HTML Editor.

If you can zip your vnu file and all files/folders and email me a link to download them at scott@coffeecup.com, we will figure out what the issue is and correct it for you.

OK, that is what I was wanting to know. I noticed on other posts that people were making comments that sounded like there was something I had done that was causing the problem. But, for the life of me, I have tried all of the possibilities and every time it seemed to fix the problem, very shortly, it would resurface.

If it is a software problem, then I will just have to wait for the update.

As far as sending you the file and giving you a link.....

I don't know what you are talking about. I know just enough about computers to build a simple website and get my email, etc.

I don't know how to send you the vnu and I don't know where I am supposed to link it to (or how for that matter).

Is there possibly a reason outside of the update that I am having this problem? Or will the update fix it for me? If the update is coming out in a few weeks (from previous post) it is probably easier for me to just wait - unless there is a reason this might not fix it.

What you need to do use create a zip file. Windows has this built into the OS, go to http://support.microsoft.com/kb/306531 for instructions. We need the vnu file and all related files. Once you have the zip file, go to yousendit.com and you can have the files e-mailed to me.

I don't have a specific ETA on when VSD 6. will be released, so if you need this ASAP we can try and help this way.

Hey frustrated,
I have had a similar problem twice, banged my head off of the wall for hours and wait for it... it turned out to be my fault both times. As Carlo mentioned, once I had a picture in the background-you couldn't see it, I found it by accident. The second time, I was copying and pasting a long nav bar from page to page and I double pasted, dohhh-again, you couldn't see it, but it was causing the same symptom. It can drive you nuts sometimes, but in my experience-the software works. Good luck and don't give up...you bought the software already and hang in there, it is worth it.

Hi Kevan,

Thanks for the info. I looked and looked and can't figure out what the problem was......so, I finally did like suggested and started over. So far, I haven't had the problem. Luckily at the time I only had about 10 pages done. Now, I have almost 100, so hopefully it doesn't happen again. Just in case, I have started saving the website under 2 names so that if it happens again, I can just pull out the copy without a problem and start from there.

thanks again.

I saw this error for the first time yesterday. I re-saved the offending image making it smaller and that solved the problem. So I think something on my system is causing a corrupt image. Also Windows Vista couldn't re-size the image when I tried to make it smaller and email it. The image was from Photoshop 7 saved as a jpeg.
