VSD not uploading after computer change

Hi,
I just installed VSD on a new computer. It was on my last one, with Windows XP and was uploading fine.
I've just purchased a new computer with Windows 7 and having problems when I click the upload button on VSD. I keep getting a message saying,
"The program could not establish a connection to the internet. Please check to see if you have entered the correct destination server, username, and password in the FTP Settings window."

I copied the FTP info exactly from my previous computer, but it's not uploading. Even when I click on the "Test Internet connection" the 2 boxes(test and log) are empty and the test button is greyed out.

I'm also using Go Daddy for hosting.

I don't know what else to do.
Any help wopuld be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
Jim

Have you tried turning your firewall off? See if that makes any difference. ;)

Did you copy and paste or did you type it in? Maybe a blank space?:)

Paintbrush* -Using Windows 7's control panel, I can allow programs thru the firewall. I added VSD to the list, but it's still giving me the same message.

Eric* -I typed in the info. I thank you for the help, but I've retyped the same info over and over just to be sure.

I've no idea why VSD isn't working though....

Try this.:)
Configure the shortcut to always run as administrator. Here's how:

1. Right-click the shortcut icon, and click Properties.
2. Click the Compatibility tab.
3. Here, put a check mark by Run This Program as an Administrator.
4. Next, put a check mark next to Run This Program in Compatibility Mode For: and ensure Windows XP Pro Service Pack 2 is selected.
5. Click OK.
I can't hear what I'm looking at.

Thanks Eric. I tried what you explained, and still nothing.
I already had the program running as admin, just in case, but also tried the Compatibility mode of Windows Xp, service pack 2...nadda.

Getting very frustrated. But thank you for the help.

Have you rebooted?

Ok, reboot didn't matter. So, I went to the support tab and redownloaded the VSD, hoping maybe something had previously installed quirky.
Some of the updated screens are a bit different, but at least now the "test connection" is working, but tells me my password failed. I guess I'll have to get ahold of Go Daddy support, because I know the password is correct.

Thanks for your efforts.:)

As a test try uploading to S_Drive you have a free site if you take advantage of it. That at least will test out VSD and point the finger somewhere else.:/
