On my home page I have a horizontal bar with the menu options (which are individual buttons aligned together).

I want for the button to change colour when you put your mouse over.

I checked out the instructions for mouse over and it seems that I can do this if the object is a polygon. But my buttons are rectangles.

Can someone tell me how I can do a 'mouse over' effect on my buttons?
