I am trying to upload my website and it keeps coming up with an error saying the file is missing. The file is in the folder but it does not preview nor does it upload. The error is as follows:

C:\Users\Dallas\AppData\Local\Temp\vsd_tmpdir\biglogo2.jpeg

I have changed the photo, name, size, and everything I can think of but nothing seems to fix it.

What should I do???

Thanks,
Erica

Hi Erica,
I would try removing it then re-adding it by going to settings>remove files look for that jpg then click ok and save. that will get rid of the error message. If your project requires it, then go to settings add files and re-add it by locating where it is and save again. then upload -you should also be able to preview it at that point as well. the reason it's looking for it is because you have changed the name..... :)
Good Luck.

This looks like the problem I have also...too many times. The blue bar on the popup it titled FTP then giving the missing file(s) of my photo via Photo Gallery. I have redone each step from PG to redoing my pages with the Flash tools, making sure it's in the Add Files area. What a hassle, more times than I want to say. Now, it's doing it again.

Yes, I can resync the website, but that's a major upload. Any other suggestions?

LE,
are you removing the old images first before you added the gallery with the flash tool?
Another way is to try and not let VSD do the upload is upload your project in Photo Galleries ftp then just copy the html code to your page. save and upload VSD but first you'll need to remove all the galleries files from VSD.
If your gallery doesn't work still use a different ftp like filezilla or wise ftp or direct ftp see if that does it. NNo offense but this sounds more like user error so it has to be a process of how it's added to VSD or what is done after it's added with the flash tool, again please excuse my ignorance..
could you maybe give a step by step thingy.

When I use Photo Gallery/Form Builder/Flash Blogger etc I NEVER let the software do the uploads. For me, 90% of the time it does not overwrite the old files, and so I use my own FTP program and do EVERYTHING manually. I have had this problem with every CC software that I have used (except VSD) ever since I began using the software in 2006. It's no big deal, I don't mind it. But the point is, don't trust the software to overwrite old files. Here is something else you can try:

1. Delete the "_websites" folder for the project

2. Re-save the .vnu file in another location.

3. Move the original images and files for the page to another location on the system.

4. When VSD asks you to re-locate the images for the site, you will need to locate the referenced image within the "_websites" project.

If you don't want to do all this, you could try just deleting all the files in the "_websites" folder. When you open your project in VSD you MAY have to manually locate a few graphics (or all of them), but when you save the VSD file it will re-sample and re-save all your images in the "_websites" folder.

If you have a very large site I don't recommend this option bc re-linking the graphics may actually take you all day...

My little trick is opening VSD and mnimizing it, then open the website folder select everything and delte it , then maximize VSD and click save, it's a new folder full of what is needed and no double anything...just a thought :)
