I am having the exact same issue.
I am using VSD 6.0 Build 3
Has anyone found an answer to this?
Not using advanced text is not an option because it's part of my logo.

I just replied to your other post with the same question. This is a known issue and should be fixed late next week. Sorry...

Has this fix been released? (build 4?)

Yes, we have made a lot of changes revolving around linking to documents.

Awesome. Thank you Scott.
However, when I go to the download page it says I have the latest version that was released on 5/11.
I tried refreshing the page too.

I tried refreshing the page too.
On the previous versions I could link just about anything to just about anywhere without a problem. However; what I have found on the version 6 is that I can not link text to anything other than another page on my site.
In order to link text it has to be in the "Advanced" mode because if it's not when you click on the link box it does not allow you to do anything. Yet even in the advanced mode - as I said above - I can only link it to another page. If I try to link it to a web address it will automatically remove the http:// and then you're left with what VSD keeps trying to tell you is a file it can't find.
I can use an object box to link to web addresses, this however is not what I prefer to do. If I have written info and I want to be able to click on a name or phrase in the middle of the text it is not possible. This means that I have to place an object in the middle of the text, (which of course I won't do because it looks rediculous), so that's out of the question. I end up putting a box below the text - which I really don't like.
I just don't understand why it was changed in the new version when it was available in the old.
Has anyone else found this to be the case? Like to hear from anyone who has run across this and I'd like to know if you've figured out a way to get passed it.
Thanks!

Thanks guys!
I just downloaded the build 4 and I'm still having the external link problems. I can link and object but not text so as far as I can tell new build didn't fix the problem.
Brenda, please try not to post the same message in so many threads. Makes it terrible difficult to keep track of everything
I did post a reply to your other 2 posts.
