Klaus,

Thanks for the post but the problem is still present. I'm running windows XP and there is no option to open as admin on right click.

Thanks again for the input though.

Cheers!

here's a curious question! Is VSD installed On The C Drive? Flash Drive? Or Other?

VSD will error out somethimes if an image used is large since VSD does not resize the original image and your using it as a thumbnail per say. ( an upload error )
I'm running XP Pro SP3 and having no problems. running latest version 5.94.

what did you add when the problem first started?
have you changed any coding?
Howdy Doody man or myth?
Is it always a windows error?

VSD on C: drive

I was uploading photos to a page the first time it presented itself. I added photos and re-sized them before uploading the page.

No code has been changed.

Neither...a puppet.

Always a windows error.

I have since run a cleaner and cleaned out all temp files, cookies, etc. and still have the problem. Problem did carry over to other sites built with VSD, not just the one with photos.

Thanks

Which browser are you using if I may ask. It offers to open in default or built-in browsers. does that make a difference for you?
What was the last thing done before it quit working? and 1 more dumb question. Have you tried with windows security disabled and firewall?

I've tried both the default and Mozilla browser.

The last thing done was an upload of one site successfully. The next site (different from the first) was updated using VSD and failed to open in preview and failed to upload. Now it does not matter which site I open. None can be previewed or uploaded via VSD.

Not a dumb question as I only knew to try that after reading in the forums. I did try with all (including Norton that I use) disabled but to no avail.

If you want to view source on any of the sites I've manually uploaded via FTP visit
melissayoungimages.com
millsapmedia.net

All the subdomains and their pages were developed using VSD.

i'M NOT NOT ANY GURU, JUST ANOTHER USER AND FULL OF DUMB QUESTIONS AND HERE'S ONE OF THEM. (sorry caps on)
see the attched file, do you have all of these on your server? if so all you need is the index.html file. maybe the rest is confusing VSD. just a thought.

nice sites btw!

Hmmm! I'll check and see what's actually on the server. I may need to do some cleaning there as well.

Thanks.

If you think of anything else, let me know

In the past when this has happened to me on a xp system, I found that some modification was made to xp(sometimes I did it :)) or software I installed or a virus. I would try system restore(it's on your control panel and in system tools) and take it back to when your VSD program was working properly. If that doesn't work, I would also recommend scanning your system with a online scanner(like trend micro). Sometimes the desktop virus scanner can actually become corrupted.

I had similar problems a few months ago when I used VSD on an XP (SP3) platform. The program kept crashing every few minutes. The only thing I could do was to save the page I was working on very frequently and restart VSD as necessary. A very annoying thing, and not an incentive to actually buy the program.Given the number of people in this thread, it's not likely everyone had the same virus (I know my computer is virus free), or other malware or running the same type of conflicting program.

Have something to add? We’d love to hear it!
