Im having a problem uploading my site using Vista. I got a new computer that came with Vista Premium. I moved all the files to my new computer and opened up VSD(after changing all the security settings). I was able to modify my files and connect but then "an error occurred during uploading" message appears. Its weird because I am able to upload using Firestarter.

I am also having this problem. I have sent an email. Hopefully we get an answer soon. Funny thing is I have uploaded using Vista & VSD before without issue? HELP PLEASE.

Just found this in the online help pages & in test it worked for me. Strange though I never needed to do this before...
"For some FTP-servers it is necessary to check the passive flag. Open the Internet Connection dialog and click on the Advanced button. This will open a new dialog where you can check this Passive flag. Click on OK and try to upload the homepage again. If that doesn't work then open the dialog again and uncheck the Passive flag."

Yes we have found that in the new version of VisualSite Designer the passive is required in most cases. The passive mode is a more secure way for uploading files to the server, and help ensure that your files are uploaded without any disruptions.

HI! I get this message under XP if there are any files with illegal characters in them. Usually for me it is a space. Replace the space with an underscore < _ > and that allows the uploading to continue.

In the latest version of VSD, use of the underscore is discouraged (it's an illegal character now, due to changing web standards). It's best to replace spaces with a hyphen now.

If you are having upload issues, can you please give this a try. Download http://upload.coffeecup.com/pics/vsd_ftp_fix.zip and run the included batch file. This will manually register a few dll's

No, that information was only for 5.9 version. It will no longer work with 6.0.

I have tried to upload my website using the new VSD 6.0 and am still having problems after trying the "passive" fix that was stated previously. Is there another fix??? Thanks.
