Actually 2 questions here:

1. How can I add a user - password protection to a page?
2. How can I upload files to a certain location (end user) on the web-server?

I want to create a page on a site where the user can upload certain files to a certain folder op the web-server. This page must only be accessible using a user name and password.

Dick Rikkengaa,

If you are using a Linux server with your host, you can use Website Access Manager(WAM) to set user-names and passwords. The WAM uses .htaccess and .htpasswd to control access to folders on your website, and .htaccess & .htpasswd are only available on Linux servers.

Once inside the protected area, you could use the Web Form Builder to setup for file uploads to a folder on the website named "files" and you could then get those files.

Thanks Nill. I believe GoDaddy uses Linux right?

WFB is a swell idea Bill, but do I have the freedom to upload to the folder I choose? I want to upload files to the files/download folder.

I noticed that PDF's that I open on my site are placed in fields/download. I want to update those file using the site, not the VSD environment. Make sense?

I bought both: Web Access Manager and Password Wizard. I have use for both.

The Password Wizard was actually what I was looking for. I created a Log-in page that redirects to the page I want the user to go. (It was childish simple :)

However: the question remains: How can I send an uploaded file (using the latest WFB) to a folder of my choice?

The WFB is hard coded to upload files to the "files" folder. You need to create that folder and give it the correct permissions.

I have not looked, but you may be able to edit a file (maybe an XML) to change this.

Thanks Bill. I looked and could not find it.

VSD will upload documents to "files/download" if something is linked to a document. I want to update those documents outside VSD by uploading to that folder.

I will scratch my head a little bit longer...:D
