Thanks for the input Rog.
But nope, that doesn't do it. I can set the background to a solid color right in VSD (haven't downloaded the new version). But I want to maintain the current 2 color design and place THAT in the middle of a solid color background. (see the link to Kati's site)
Though I haven't done it, I can use colored rectangles as a work around because the program will center those along with my text, but then the program complains about 'big objects'.
Maybe somehow enclose the original page in a table (my first thought) and center that? Unfortunately I don't have a lot of experience with CSS (time to learn!) and that appears to be what VSD is using.

Did you reduce the width of the page?
So that your design isn't as wide as the whole screen?
My width(s) are typically 1,000 to 1,200.

Actually I generally use 800 for my width to make my sites user friendly for those who may still have small screens (I see from web stats that is getting less and less of an issue these days). Nothing more annoying than scrolling back and forth on a page!
I, too, am having problems. I contacted my tech support at my host and they made it very clear it is in the scripting. I just started building sites like 4-5 months ago and have never honestly written my own script. I just use builders. HELP.
Liana Workman,
Can you be more descriptive about your problems? If you explain what you want done, and what program you are using to build your site, someone may be able to help.
A link to your site might provide a lot of help.

I'm trying to add a background image to my home page in VSD 7.0. Currently, the background is a solid color. I browse to the image I want (in the files folder) and select it, but the background does not change. In fact, if I try to change to background color, the color doesn't change either. BTW, The image I want is the same size as the page size.
Any ideas about what's happening?
Thanks.

Does the background image show when you do a preview?
If so then I would suspect the image is not your web server.

Don't use images that are already in your files folder. Use an image outside VSD and let VSD put the image in the files folder.

I can't hear what I'm looking at.
