but what I do for now (as a work around) is go to settings>standard setting for new pages, and below select the page I want to change color on then click ok.

I've noticed the same problem: unable to change the background color using VSD 6.0, build 3

We had another user report this but they uninstalled and reinstalled the software and everything worked.

Maybe that will help.

We finally figured out the issue with selecting background colors. It all had to do with a specific steps being take. It is fixed now and will be in the next update:

Here is how to reproduce the issue:

1. start vsd
2. click on create new website
3. click cancel
4. go to the file menu and select new website click ok
5. click on page properties
5. try and change the solid color

If you open an existing Website, everything should work fine. I hope to have the update ready tomorrow.
