I have a poorly thought out Diary page on my website which I decided to change so that the dated entries went from latest to earliest down the page.
So I busily cut and pasted all the individual text boxes into the order I wanted then I realised the problem.............
When I come to add a new entry at the top of the page I am going to have to select each text box and move it down. :(

Is there any way of converting all those individual text boxes into one large text box so I can just hit Enter and create new lines at the top?

Or is there a way of cutting those boxes out of the page into Notepad or something, then creating a new larger box and pasting the entries back into the new box.

Any ideas guys or have I got to sit down and type it all again. :(

You might consider to "select" them all (CTRL-A?) and just place them wherever you want on your page as one "block" of text boxes.

Also, you can create one continuous HTML page for all your entries in one big text box and place that page in a iframe.

Example:
<iframe src = "diary.html" width="650" height="490" align="middle">
</iframe>

If you're using VSD, this will be a snap using the HTML tool.

This "diary.html" can be a nice clean page with text boxes only. Make sure your dairy.html is about 15 to 20 px smaller than your iframe.(so you don't have to scroll from left to right)

Thanks for the idea Dick,
Strangely enough I was in Aruba last weeek, a beautiful island but a long way from the UK!

Cannot use select all because it picks up my links as well, need to learn some more HTML and use frames.

Did you use CC Photo Gallery on your site, it looks very good.

You're welcome!.

Thanks for visiting Aruba (although it's a long way from home) I hope you enjoyed yourself.

Yes, I did use CC Photo gallery. It there something else existing? :lol: CC just has great products against very reasonable prices.

I suggest that you try the iframe solution. (in a test environment first?)

My work flow to do this is as followed:

1. I size and place the "frame" that the HTML tool gives me on my page the way I prefer.

2. I note the size of that frame and create a blank HTML page which is about 20 px smaller than the -HTML tool frame-

3. I place in the "BODY" section of the HTML tool (double click on it) the code snipped as shown before and give the "src =" parameter the name of my newly created blank HTML page and also give it the correct dimensions as noted before.

You're done!

Now you only have to put content on the newly created blank HTML page.

I'm w/ Dick on the iframe idea. Honestly, if you want to add content like a diary, I'd consider using a blog service within the iframe or try to alter the blog page to match your site. I know I'm lazy, but that's too much maintenance editing an html page to do exactly what Blogger or other services handle for you. Then, you can simply log into the blog site to add diary content and never have to re-upload from VSD after each entry.

Of course, there's also CoffeeCup's own Flash Blogger 4.5. ;)

The price, support and user friendliness from CC software is hard to beat. Flash blogger is absolutely a better solution.
