VSD 5.9.4 registered version crashes...

If I swap pages, it can crash. If I go to a website, and come back to VSD, it can crash. If I try to copy/paste items from another page, it can crash. If I save a page and then try to upload it, it can crash.

In order to get any work done, I have to save after each and every little change in the web page. Then at least I can restart from that point, after reopening up VSD and my website.

The older version never crashed with these activities. 2 days ago, I installed the newest VSD version (and the program asked to uninstall the older version of the program). I've since reinstalled the program again, but it still crashes every couple of minutes.

I am running Vista home 32 bit, and have not had any conflicts with the older version of VSD.

Anything I can do, other than start learning Expressions Web?

Thanks for any help.

Have you turned UAC off in Vista?
Did you install VSD to its default location?
How is the capacity of your PC, re RAM and CPU?

Just a couple of questions I could think of...

I've got UAC disabled in Vista. Have plenty of capacity, as it is a fairly new computer (less than 1 year old). 4G of Ram. Still have over 50% capacity of hard drive left.

I finally figured out that it crashes if I highlight empty lines past the last bit of text and then hit delete. I have to be very careful that I only highlight actual text, not any empty lines after the text. So when I am doing multiple pages from the same template, if I am not very careful when changing text, then it will crash.

And I've figured out that if I group text boxes and then try to delete the group or any part of the group, it crashes. I have to ungroup the items and delete individual items one by one. So when I upload a template I've created, I have to check if any items are grouped together on the page before working on it, or else I risk a crash and losing work. If I work on anything grouped together, it wants to crash. (An error message would be nice instead ;) )

Some of the other crashes are still unexplained, however. I've noticed that this version is much more picky about the order that I do things than the last version was. For example, I have to fill out the page settings in a specific order, or else it won't take any of the settings.

I had one day of interrupted uploading of pages, but then that magically stopped. Not sure what was up with that. It would hang on different pages and files each time.

And the crashing every time I swap from CC VSD to look at word or a web page suddenly quit happening. So not sure what was up with that either, as nothing changed.

Thanks for the help.

Don't suppose you can tell me why I was magically blocked from the Ambassador Lounge the last few days? I am teaching a class about developing web pages to business people, and we go through the various software that is available, including coffecup. I wanted to update my class materials and pull some info from a post I had contributed to awhile back, and I can no longer see that post or get into the Lounge. I could get in there last week, but I can't this week. It would be very helpful if I could could have my status reinstated.
