Scott. Yes, that was the problem. Strangely though, I had never specified that folder in the past and it worked! Go figure, eh? Yep, not a VSD problem.

BUT...

Now working on pics, links, spacing, page position, etc. that 6.0 screwed up. Lots of labor/time.

What, no I am sorry Scott and you are so amazing and VSD is the best program ever! ;)

Before you start saying the other issues are bugs with VSD again ;) Talk with our support department to see if you are possibly performing a task differently then expected. I am sure there is always a fix for any issue.

Fair enuf, but any software firm that says there are NO BUGS whatsoever in their software isn't being very realistic. Looks like I hit a sensitive spot.

I never said there are no bugs, no software is bug free. If you look back over this entire thread, you made some very strong statements against the software, but the issue all came down to a small user error. This was never a bug with the software itself and took all of 5 seconds to correct.

The same could be for your other issues. Give our support a chance to help. I know it may be gratifying to post in the forums and vent your frustration, but ultimately it can prove counter productive.

Please help,
my website files keep changing on their own, making it impossible for me to build
this page. When I go to add a picture to the page it is no longer the picture I
had with that file name just minutes ago. Some of my images are now simply a block of solid color.

I had a file called "IMG_456.jpg" and now it is renamed "IMG_721.jpg" What is going on?

If I delete an image from my files it will sometimes reappear back in my file
with a different name.

Hi Jose,
usually when an image is replaced with a color block, a window opens stating it can't locate that image and asks if you wish to locate it. When you select no it replaces it with a color block, which is what it seems to me VSD has done.
Did you move any images from it's original location from when you first applied the image?

I would also suggest upgrading VSD to the current version ( 6.0 build 6 ) as this may help you also. The new version holds on the the image name that is used, and the images (IMG_456.jpg) for example is going to be renamed because it looks to me that you went to the website folder and chose that image which cause VSD to rename it different again.

I don't know exactly why this happens but what I would try to do , is delete the colored rectangles that replaces your images, then go to settings and remove files and remove the pesky images for good and readd them completely. save and preview, see what you get and let us know what happens. But do this after you have upgraded your current version.

Hi Guys,

Be very careful when thinking to upgrade to version 6.06: I did the sad experience myself!
A simple button with mouse-over effect is NO MORE displayed correctly after the upgrade! There are a lots of "details" that make my websites generated with version 5.8 to be visually totally different with version 6.0 and even worst with version 6.06!
When you open a vnu file with version 6 and you save it, it will be IMPOSSIBLE to go back to prior versions: do a backup (whole structure) before any upgrade!
Writing software myself, I know that sometimes, a backward compatibility is too heavy to maintain and a break is necessary. But please, KEEP the functionality! What will say my customers, when I add a line of text in their homepages and everything is scrambled after that! And it's exactly what happens to the 2 or 3 sites I have "upgraded" to V6.06 !!!
By chance, I and my customers remarked the visual degradations quite fast ... and today, I'm back to the good old version 5.9
I'm sure that the CoffeeCup SW developers will fix these bugs (sorry "problems") very soon, but I don't like to be used as "beta-tester" without being informed. And that is my final word: a SW can be released ONLY when it passes ALL the tests before!
It's obviously not the case for version 6.06...

Have something to add? We’d love to hear it!
