DO NOT try to use ctrl-A to hi-light all the text in a text box. This is an immediate crash and exit, dont pass Go, dont collect $200. Just dont do it.

And to add to Scott's info you should double click on the text ( to make a red border around it) then highlight it to edit or delete.

Ctrl-A crashes me every time when I'm in the text box itself, after the border is red.

Scott are you highlighting the text first?

Ctrl-A is what I was using to hilight all the text. Thats what I use in Word and almost all other software. It even works with the text I type in the posting box here. It's pretty standard.

So try this... in VSD, dbl click on a text box so the border turns red. Put your cursor in the text, then hit ctrl-A. Instead of highlighting all the text in the text box... you get crash-o-matic.

ctrl-A outside of a text box simply selects all the items on the page, and this works fine, and is even very useful fior tracking down overlaps. It just doesnt inside the a text box itself.

OUCH! that hurt........your right.
When I have no box around the text Scott, when I use the ctrl+A it places a blue border around the text ( not the red) and doesn't crash (all text) on the page, but it also using this method ctrl+a to copy then ctrl+c to copy then ctrl+V to paste worked, Dam am I slow today. no crashes the first time it crashed I rebooted and hasn't yet. wierd Maybe i'm missing something...
can't seem to do it to a specific text box though. ctrl+A copies all

Are you on 5.9.4? I cannot recreate that issue here. It was a bug in 5.91 but we fixed that sometime ago.
