I've come across something that I never had happen in VSD6. Twice now I've gotten a pop-up box that says "Encountered Improper Argument". It seems to happen when text is close to an HTML object or a link button (even if none of the bounding boxes are touching/overlapping). It has a close X on it or an OK button, but clicking OK does nothing, it stays open so I can't select or move anything, and it won't close. I have to ctrl-alt-delete to make it go away, then move the items further apart after re-starting VSD7.

So, just what is an Improper Argument? Can I have a proper argument? What if I don't feel like arguing?

One other bit of weirdness - the globe icon (publish button) flickers when I move my mouse. Is it getting nervous because I haven't up-loaded the site?

(Windows 7 Home Premium, 32 bit)

Has anyone else come across this?

I have seen everything your discribing. I was trying to figure out the actual cause of the improper argument. I know VSD locked up and then I restarted it and it was fine.
I can't hear what I'm looking at.

Typically that error is caused with a person and a computer get into an argument and the computer wins. ;)

I looked through some technical stuff and that seems to just be some generic "catch all" type of error. If you can see if you can replicate the issue I am sure we can fix it. I did a few tests with the HTML tool and other objects and didn't run into anything here, so I bet it maybe when it intersects some other type of object.

I will keep poking. I will give a hint on where to find the hidden Christmas Egg for the first person that can replicate this. ;)

I've gone back to both pages this happened on, re-did my text, links, etc... Even typed text on top of the HTML box - nothing, no arguments at all.:D
Eric - do you remember what you were doing when it happened?

I was trying to figure out why a imag I had on my page wouldn't show on the website but showed up on the preview. I tried resync, upload and restart. I even added the same imag next to the one that wouldn't show up and that one would show up???? It was during this process that the error showed its ugly face.
I can't hear what I'm looking at.

I've had the same problem. Inserting text in a box and when you click out of it to save it the "Encountered an Invalid Arguement" error shows up. The error box will not close, have to use Task Manager to exit the program. Re-open VSD and copy/paste the same text in the same place with no problem.
This seems to be happening more since I had to use a backup copy of my site. Three times yesterday while trying to do the weekly update. All I can say is "Save your work often!"
