I have just installed the latest version of VSD and have updated some of the sites that I manage. One site will not work. The error message states that it cannot find the .vnu-6 version which is the extension from the older version and do I want to upload anyway. I am afraid to click yes so I stop the upload. Why is it doing this? The other sites automatically converted to the newer version. Please help!

Barry, Did you make a backup of your old site. Ounce you goto VSD 7.0 your site can't go back to 6.0 unless you open a backup copy of your site that was saved in 6.0 with 6.0.
I can't hear what I'm looking at.

I don't use VSD, but I was under the impression that the new version was supposed to be making a backup for you before it upgraded your site. Is this no longer the case? Just curious as that's what I thought I was reading in the feature list somewhere on the forums.

If this is the case, then there should be a backup of your 6.0 site somewhere that the 7.0 program did for you, unless of course you did a backup of your own which is always a good idea before upgrading things too :)

Per Scott's post on my question, here is how to restore a site:

"If you go to Settings Menu > Preferences, look at the last setting "Saving creates a .vnu backup here". If you have that enabled, click the "here" link and it will open a directory where the VNU files are. Just copy that and overwrite the damaged VNU and you should be all set."

I had one of my sites show up as a Corrupted File after upgrading to VSD 7.0, and this work around did the trick. There were a couple of images lost, but easy enough to find and replace. I also found it took images and placed them in the file, but in the wrong place.

If you get an error when uploading that images are there but not found, a fix is:
Open all pages of the site one by one, when all are open hit Save. Then go to Edit, Remove Files, select all image files not in the Root folder and delete. Check pages for missing images, again I had a few missing after doing this but it was better than recreating the entire site again.

Hi. Thanks for the update to the update. I'm still having trouble with the mouseover of certain images - both png and jpeg. I'm going from original size to larger size on mouseover. Same problem, although some images are performing correctly.

I'm guessing that you all still are working on this, right?

Thanks.

This is a great step, but I don't often copy and paste from one page to another. What I do do often is c&p on the same page, for example to create a list of bullet points. In the past I just created one point, clicked ctrl+c, ctrl +v and moved the new object down as required, then a quick ctrl+c, ctrl+v to copy the new point, shift that down and repeat as required. With the 10x10 shift it's now a lot harder. Is there any plans to allow us to shut off that feature altogether, or even better, customise the shift? I could set it up to paste the new object down by the correct amount and not shift horizontally at all.

I appreciate the effort you guys have made to fix the shift issue so far, but I think it still needs a little bit more work.

Thanks.

No, I don't think we will ever change that simply for it doesn't make sense. If you copy and object on a page, why would you ever leave it in the exact same position as the original object. By offsetting it a few pixels you can see the new object and then move it to the new location.

I see what Cogsy is trying to do. Lets say I want a little dirt bike symbol next to all my links in a list. This would allow me to have a custom bulleted list thats a little faster to make. I could set the offset for what I felt looked good.:)
