Vertical Scroll Bar - Post ID 151100

Searched, but could not find answer to my question.

I'm designing a site for my sign language classes. The left side contains buttons. I would like those to remain in place not matter where I go on the website. The area next to the buttons would be for the information that is related to the button. If that info is too long to fit in the window, then I want a scroll bar to appear on the right to scroll down and back up. The Buttons should remain fixed.

See my picture.

Hopefully it makes sense what I am asking about.

Thanks,

Galen

Hi,

The good news first: The scrollbar will appear automatically when needed, you don't have to worry about that.

The bad news: If you mean a fixed menu bar that you edit on just one page and then it will update itself on the other pages, I'm afraid that can't be done in VSD. But you can copy contents from one page to another, so you can have the same menu appearing in the same place on every page. You just have to edit all the pages if you make some change to the menu.
Ha en riktig god dag!

Thanks for your responses. In my uploaded picture, if I click on the ASL 1 button I can go to the ASL 1 page and I can just duplicate those buttons no problem. It's the content that the button links to that would show in a "frame"????

As you can see I am not familiar with the correct terminology. A long time ago I built my original site using a program from Symantec called Visual Page.

If you go to this site you can get an idea more of what I am talking about as far as the scrolling window thing. AS you can see the menu on the left remains fixed.

If that doesn't work I'll just uprotect it.

Can you give me a hint on how??

Thanks for your help!

this was made a while ago, I made the code in html editor, and copied it to VSD
if you still don't understand let me know. this is a 3 window frame, not a 2 like yours is.

Sorry I didn't even pay attention to the user name and pasword you posted in the original post. Do you want that menu to stay in the same position while people scroll the right hand section?

Eric,

Going back to the pic I posted...the top section will be the same ofr all web pages, the left side with buttons will be the same and and bottom section the same. Only thing I want is that section as outlined in red to be vertically scrollable.

Thanks.
