Using Objects with Altenative Text...

Hello: I am starting up my own business and am trying to create a website for marketing purposes. As discussed in several other posts here, the text in VSD can sometimes appear differently depending on the browser. I had tried to use "safe fonts" (Georgia, New Times Roman) but the condition remained. As such, I decided to "imagize" the text via the following procedure:

1. Get my text how I want it - using any font I like.
2. Use the arrow pointer thing to highlight the text box in blue
3. Hit the "objects" icon, then check the box that says "allow advanced text"
4. Go to the "effects" icon - looks like a wand - and trick the software! I make it think I've done an effect by clicking the shadow box but then setting the opacity to 100% (hence no shadow)
5. Preview in Browser to ensure happy outcome.

This works well.

But my question is this. I want to use my website for marketing. Thus, I want the text to be searchable in search engines. I understand that the text that I "imagized" is no longer going to be searchable. So what I have done is created an object and inserted the same text in the "alternative text" field. I then hide this object by sending it backwards behind other objects. Would this altrnative text within an object be searchable? If not, what solution do you recommend. Is it the best solution?

Thanks for any advice!

I think we need to figure out why your standard text isn't displaying properly across browsers. Could you post a link to the site (before changing all the text to images)?

Can't post it yet. Since I am offering professional services, I have to have the site approved by the licensing authority in my state before I can make it public. Sorry! :(

If you stay with the advanced text option, fill in the alternate text under object properties for SEO.:)
