Regarding the publishing of webpages created using VSD........

Why is it that whenever I make a minor change (e.g adding one block of text) to one of my web pages (of say around 50 web pages that make up my website), ALL webpages are uploaded which takes sometime. The total number of files for my site is around 1800 and all of them upload as part of the 'publish website' process.

I was hoping that there was a way of only uploading changes made since the last upload.

Any help greatly appreciated.

It's not really uploading every page but checking what's on the server against what's on your pc for changes. It only uploads the changes.:)
I can't hear what I'm looking at.
It's easy to overlook something you're not looking for.

I use the CC Direct FTP to upload changes to my VSD web site. It has the computer files on the left side and the server files on the rt side. You can double click the computer files and they open down below and you can preview them to see if it is the actual file that you want to upload, and you can edit changes into the html files you are about to upload You can too download files from the server to your computer and edit them and then send them back changed. All of these things you can do as small or as large as you like. Then check some pgs and see if it all went well
The VSD when it does its auto making up of the site has a tendency to auto change lots of stuff. When I did some fancy text title blocks and used the advanced text function it made up a new image for every pg and they were all exactly the same so I ended up with 16 exactly the same images so it would have been better to just make up an image and upload that and enter that image into every pg and put in the alternate text for the bots to read.
Doing it with the auto advanced text function have to upload the same image with a different name for each pg and the pg html file too If you manually make up the text as an image you can manually load it to each pg then you only have to upload the one image for each page to read.
Open the view pg source on the preview of the VSD and it tells you what images the page you are changing uses and those are the images to upload and the pg html code too You can compare that to the existing pg source code on the server to see what the differences are and then upload the required files with your CC FTP application.
