Seems the flash/VSD problems aren't over. I could ask this in the photo gallery forum, but all the history is here.
Last night I added a few more pages to my site, changed nothing in regards to my flash and this morning the flash doesn't work.
Checked the preview (VSD) of what I uploaded last night, worked fine. Previewed this afternoon the saved site, worked fine. Uploaded that, no flash.
So I deleted the flash files from my server, hostrocket, uploaded them again using PG, deleted the flash from my home page in VSD, put it back using the Flash tab, removed all flies (check all) under settings/remove files. previewed - works fine, upload the site. Still doesn't work.
What am I missing here?

William,
Just adding pages as you say shouldn't make a difference, so if you deleted all from server, all from VSD using the remove files under settings and remove them from your website folder itself, ( by default is in My Documents) you shouldn't see it. When you say "you deleted the flash from your page I assume it was in the html box correct. Then your saved it at that point. right?
Previewed it once again did it show up? If it does not then as you stated using the "Flash Tool" draw your box -then the browse window pops up and you look for the xml file the gallery makes , and then save, VSD will add all the files and images needed. Is this what you did?

Make sure you never use spaces in any of the names of your files.
So you want to avoid things like "Website Flash 1b.swf" and "Website Flash 1b.xml".

Bruzer,
I failed to comprehend when you first told me "no spaces in files names" I focused on the files in the flash itself, not the name of the file. I removed the spaces from Flash File 1b, saved and added back to my home page. it's working this morning. What a twit.
Thanks to you both!
Question about removing files using Settings/remove files. Having removed all files (so the option to do so goes away) I see when I add my new Flash - Flashfile1b - to the page, all the files associated with the new flash appear in the pop up box to be removed if I want to.
I get that I would want to remove files related to old flashs, but this is a newly inserted item. Guess I don't really understand what that option is for completely.

You answered your own question William,
It's just for removing what you don't want in your website. Otherwise it will pop up that pesky window asking to find whatever it's looking for. Who knows William maybe flash1b will soon be an old flash-
The option to remove is just that. Ever notice the difference in the add files side vs the remove files side?
Also note when you remove flash1a using the remove files option it won't be removed from your website folder or server, just out of the DB file made with VSD to let it know not to look for those images ,files, whatever.
If you didn't use the remove files option then it would load them again for uploading. Man hope I explained some of this correctly. VSD gets smarter with every version.....wait for 6.0 will be great.
