Whenever I try to upload my site to the web host, the loading process begins then I get an "error uploading file" dialog. I have tried removing and readding the pictures where the error starts but it does not fix the problem. And the error starts in the few pictures. I hope I don't have to reload everything again

If you getting error on the upload have you tried reducing the original image size? As you say it errors on certain images and VSD doesn't reduce the original image to fit the thumbnail per say.
In the WWW slot of the ftp settings have you left that blank? As mine is blank and uploads fine.Att/Yahoo.

I got the same problem when my images took to long to upload which may or may not be the case here but worth a shot. SOmetimes it just takes two or three tries too.
