I updated and uploaded (I used the built in VSD ftp) my website and now all my photos are red Xs. The file path seems to be right. I can't see any reason why my website is not finding the photos. I am using VSD 6.06. Would anyone know of any tips or tricks that I might be overlooking to get my website to see my photos?
Also, would this be a good time to upgrade to version 7 as it seems 6 has always been a little unstable and if it is could someone please provide a link?
When upgrading is all I do is uninstall the old software and upload the new software?
I don't want to post the link to the website if at all possible but I have to get this solved.
Thanks,
yeto

Time to move on!!!
Get VSD 7. It's up to build 18, so it's pretty much bug-free. It's recommendd to remove the old version before downloading the new one. Make a back-up file for your website (just in case) and get going!

Do you think this will have a chance of solving my problem? I don't want to create another problem at this time if at all possible. Did other people have problems with 6.06 as far as upload and images? The main thing I need to do now is have this site up for the weekend as that is when sales are best.

Can we have a link?

Well, if it doesn't, then you'll know it's not the software but an issue with your files.
Have you moved or renamed any folders? The file paths might look OK, but they could be pointing to non-existing images if those folders have been changed in any way (no matter the VSD version). Are all your images showing up in your VSD Files folder?

Hi,
Thanks for all the replies so far.
I inserted a new photo on one of my webpages and uploaded. It is showing fine.
In my files folder all the images are labeled like the following: IMG 624.jpg (naturally the number changes) none of these are showing except for one
The new photo I uploaded that is working fine is labeled: photoname.jpg
How can I get the photos that I uploaded to change from the IMG number back to the photo name in the files folder?
Thanks,
yeto

You might want to re-insert your original photos. So when you go to insert a photo, choose the original and not a copy; for example: my_photo.jpeg rather than IMG_17.jpeg. Look in your VSD Files folder and make sure all your original images are in there. I don't think there's any way to convert those IMG files - those are created by VSD everytime you copy/paste something or save a page. After you reload the originals, you can delete the copies of them. If there're any that you're unsure about, just leave them.

A link to your site would make it a lot easier to help you get this resolved.
If you don't have the original files, download the ones you want from your site then rename them back to the original name.

Hi,
Thanks for trying to help. I don't know why you would need a link to my site. I see from search history that this is a common problem. Someone must know why and how to correct VSD changing photoname.jpg to IMG #.jpg.
For SEO reasons I don't want to post a link to the site.
Thanks,

Hi,
It looks like this part of the file path is missing.
