Is it a good idea to re-sync website?

Yeto - did you upgrade to VSD 7 yet? I'd try that before anything else. When you open the site in 7, VSD will pull in all the old version 6 files - maybe that would correct whatever glitch is keeping the images from loading.

more info . . .
I can click on an image with the arrow tool which highlights the image(places a blue border around the image) then click upload -- after upload I view the page in IE8 and the image will show.

I have the site back to normal.
This is what I did: Using the ftp publisher that my host provides I renamed/changed my website folder to "mywebsiteold" from "mywebsite". I then created a new "mywebsite" folder. Then using VSD ftp file publisher I uploaded my website to the new folder and everything is back to normal.
I still don't understand what happened and would feel better about using this software if someone could explain the sudden glitch.
I know a while back I think Scott posted a link to a video that explained how to get rid of excessive images in VSD. Would anyone have a link to that video and is this something that needs to be done periodically to help prevent these glitches?
Thanks for all the help and suggestions,
yeto

Hi,
Thanks for trying to help. I don't know why you would need a link to my site. I see from search history that this is a common problem. Someone must know why and how to correct VSD changing photoname.jpg to IMG #.jpg.
For SEO reasons I don't want to post a link to the site.

I do see that you seem to have resolved the issue, so that is good...
But, just for future reference, links to your site will help those here (trying to help you), so they can look at the file structure as well as page coding and be better equipped to help you. If you are that concerned about a "negative" effect on your SEO (I personally don't buy it, but some do), then you could post the link "creatively" such as www dot mywebsite dot com. Just a little FYI for ya.

Living the dream, stocking the cream

Without being able to see the site/code/files, it's just a guessing game. So, no way to tell what caused it in the first place. I'm happy to hear it's all working now. I would still suggest upgrading to VSD7

Just to clarify why it's asked and is one of the most important things needed when asking for help, this helps us "users" to help you better since we cannot see what you see. Many (most) times it comes down to something that is user error such as wrong info on the upload, people trying to upload things themselves manually and forgetting pieces of the puzzle that are needed to make the website complete (which in many cases is the images themselves) and a myriad of other reasons that this is important.
We, as users not techies for CC, can then look at your source code to double check what your paths are looking for and if it's really there or not. This is the best and easiest way to get assistance on the forums here. Always keeping in mind that the people posting on the forums are mostly users of the software trying to help, not employees of CC. Although... we do have great response here on these forums from the CC staff which many software companies don't have, and they do help answer a lot of questions here.
The big thing is, not everyone reads every single post on the forums to remember what happened to someone months ago or weeks ago or sometimes even days ago, so expecting everyone to just "know" because others have asked it before doesn't always work that way. Hope that helps explain why that information is key to getting the best assistance here
