Uploaded site to Lunar Pages hosting, all went well. Tried to see the site online, but get 404 error instead. Checked the LP control panel - the files are there, but I can't preview the site from there. All the html pages show up as text files.
I did notice some time ago that some of my page names are capitalized and some are lower case. The page properties in VSD won't let me change these, and since the upload worked, I thought it was OK. Could this be causing a problem? Any other ideas - or things I should look for?

When you say some of your HTML pages show as text files, do you mean with the .txt extension? If so, how are you uploading your file to your web server? Are you using VSD or a FTP?

Can you post a link to the site? It may help someone see the issue.

What URL information did you enter for the FTP setup in VSD?

Keep in mind caps sensitive counts in most cases, so if VSD is uploading them with caps, you'll need to refer to the site pages in caps also so type it exactly how it is on the server to access them in your browser. Maybe there's a setting in VSD that makes it not spit out any caps letters in files? Not sure, and if not maybe a good suggestion for VSD

OK - uploaded directly from VSD. All files show up in the LunarPages control panel.

Through the control panel, the pages show up as "html document text".

I'm going to try giving the pages new names, since VSD won't let me change the cases (for example: Contact to contact won't work - has to be something different).

Since I kept getting the successful upload message and could see all my files in the c-panel, I never thought to take another look at the log-in info. I have made a note to myself - use under score, not hyphen!
Just checked the URL and voila! there's a website there Now I need to try a few more browsers and go hunting for glitches. I'll post the link in the "your coffee cup sites" thread to get some feed-back.
