Unable to save/preview site in VSD...
I'm having a problem with being able to work remotely on files created by VSD. Specifically, the site will open, but will either: 1)Not show any images, will save, but won't preview; or 2)Show the images, but will crash if you try to Save or Preview.
I'm using CC VSD version 6.0 build 6. OS is 64-bit Vista, running VSD in compatibility mode for XP Service Pack 2.
At my end, the program works fine, however the organization for whom this site is built wants the ability to make minor edits from time to time, so they also purchased a copy of VSD 6. If I understand it correctly, they should be able to work on the site as long as they have the .vsd file and the _website folder containing the files folder.
The system they are using is a laptop, 64-bit Vista OS, same as mine, running VSD in compatibility mode with XP S.P. 2. They have 4GB RAM, and their CPU and Memory use is lower than mine, so I don't think it's a memory issue.
We have tried it that way, and the images show up but the program crashes if you try to use the Save button or the Save option in the menu, but will save if you use File/Close Website and choose the option to save changes. It will also not Preview no matter which browser you choose, we tried them all. It just crashes the VSD program.
Next we tried using just the vsd and files folder itself. This opened the page but none of the images showed up.. they are all blank boxes. If you go to the Fill object box, the image name shows up, however it is necessary to go one by one through every picture on every page and reassign them to the images in the files folder. This one would allow saving (from Save button or file/save menu), but no preview.
We even tried it with me sending a copy of the .vsd on my PC, along with the _website folder (containing the files folder). Same as the first time... page opens, images show up, but you can't save or preview it.
I had them create a new page, add an object with text, and add a link. It saves and previews just fine. So I am not thinking it's the program - maybe - but something we're doing or not doing with the files.
When pages are made or edited, they are published first to another site for review, then published on the actual site when approved. You can see the pages here: http://www.in1spirit.com/real/index.html
I've used VSD since the early 5 version and have never had a problem like this.
I would appreciate any help you could give that might clear this up.
Thanks

Forgot to add that I did preview all pages using Control-A and looking for empty text boxes and such, but there are none.
Hi Tom,
usually when you get that little box instead of an image it means that you have an incorrect file path or the images are missing. So my thinking is that either the image folder hasn't come with the rest of the files or the image folder is no longer in the same place relative to the other files that it used to be.
The saving and previewing I have no idea about but I seem to remember something like this being discussed before so hopefully someone else will remember.
Also it might be a good idea to raise a support ticket as well. Click on "Get Support" above and follow the links in there.

I know you believe you understand what you think I said...but I am not sure you realize that what you heard is not exactly what I meant.
Having the same issue here, not able to save or preview. And of course by this no way to update my website. Have never had this problem before it seems to have occured with the last version. My earlier experience with CoffeeCup support & customer service i don't really expect a solution...is there any user out there that has solved this?

How is that possible Christofer, you have never e-mail support before. If you are having problems, do open a support ticket. The only way we can help is if you ask us.

Opened a support ticket some minutes ago, and your right I've never e-mailed support on my behalf before, but trying to support my friend a couple of times before has not lived up to my expectations. Hopefully you'll prove me wrong with this case.
