The tag does not have an ALT...
Hi everyone, I'm just looking for some advice. I'm a relative novice when it comes to web design, everything I've done with my site was learned through youtube tutorials & help via forums such as this one over the past 2 years.
I've recently re-designed my site and in bing webmaster SEO reports I get a lot of occurences of 'The <img> tag does not have an ALT attribute defined.' (344 errors reported across the whole site)
Any ideas on how I can remedy this in Visual Site designer? Is it important that it be remedied?
Thank you.
Matt

Click on the image you want to work with in VSD. Now click on "Object" at the top of the design screen. In the properties box that opens to the right enter your alternate text.

I can't hear what I'm looking at.

Thanks Rolly
do I need to do this for every image or just those that are buttonised links? Also is it enough just to put the link name as alternate text or does it need to be more descriptive?

Name images something meaningful to your site and do the same for the alternate text.

There are a lot of Objects (squares & lines etc) that have no purpose but to just make up the design of the pages, do I need to name & alternate text them too?
What is the purpose of the alternate text?
Thank you.

Don't worry about the images VSD creates to render your site. Just enter the alternate for anything you add and sit back, relax and laugh at how easy it is to make a site with VSD.
