What's the display set to on the new monitor? Make sure it's at 100% ;)

Yes I have it set to 1920 x 1080 which is the highest setting. Even tried some of the lesser settings to see if the text would drop back in place.....no luck.

I just reconnected the old original monitor and the text is still over lapping. So it must be related to the video card in the new computer that was also upgraded with the wide screen monitor.

Also switched from XP to Windows 7. Now VSD won't start about 50% of the time. Clicking on the icon makes the mouse cursor turn to a circle for a few seconds then stop and VSD doesn't open.

Ahh....the little quirks of changing equipment and the OS.

The VSD not starting issue is easy enough to fix. Find the shortcut you use to open VSD. Right click on it and choose the compatibility tab. At the bottom of that tab check the box for Run as Administrator and that should fix that issue. If it still persists try the same steps but also set it to Windows XP compatibility. Shouldn't have to the the XP part though.

What most people are talking about on the settings for your resolution is that it needs to be set to the 100% setting, making sure it's 100%. Size wise being the highest is not always the best, it is in most cases, but there are a few where this issue persists even if it doesn't seem like it should. Check your settings again and make sure it's at 100% and hopefully there's something there that will help.

Problem(s) solved!

I forgot after building the new computer w/wide screen monitors that I increased the font size to 125% for my aging eyes:/
Changed it back to 100% like it was suggested and presto, everything is back to "normal". Silly me!

When 100% was mentioned previously, I thought that meant to have the monitor resolution at 100% of it's rated resolution.

Running VSD in XP SP3 also worked like a charm!

Thank you to everyone for your suggestions. This is another reason I recommend CC Software to anyone that inquires about building their own web site.

Isn't that funny how zooming up to make one thing easier to see makes it harder to see something else. Glad you got it sorted out.:)

THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU for posting this question and providing responses! This week I decided that my VSD 6.0 website needed some updating (it had been almost two years). I downloaded VSD 7.0, opened the old file on my new Windows 7 PC with a new 22" monitor....and the text was all over the place. I had no idea which of the changes had caused the problem. It never occurred to me that the screen resolution adjustment I'd made (yep, from 100% to 125%) did it. I'm sure there will be other puzzles along the way as I work through this update, but at least the starting point makes sense now. Thanks! :)

You might find that some of the text shifts to the right and down a fraction, if it was originally placed on one web page, and then copied onto another webpage

A feature incorporated intentionally into V7 which did not exist in V6
