If I create a text link ie Home Page I cannot remove the underscore even by clicking the box not to underscore links it comes out Home Page I do not want a underscore if possible.

Go to the Settings Menu > Standard Settings for New Pages to adjust your link options.

Sorry Scott I was a bit confused I did not realise that the text only shows underscores in VSD's display but is removed on preview. Gradually getting to know what makes this tick.
