Solution for slow uploading through...

Way more fun than the health clinic site and photo of the day sites that I work on.

I have just been uploading one photo every day and resizing it in the process. The images I deal with can be a lot of different sizes (length/width) so I don't know that it would help to 'format' the page ahead of time.

Bill R,

go back and look again.. you can't miss it.. there is a coffecup menu at the top that points to 5 months of gallery sections..

If you see videos.. then that means you are on the intro page for that month you chose.. there will be another menu where you can which the galleries of different sections of that month you picked..

Bill Lewis...

Hell yeah this is fun...
Right now though.. they want me to sell products with no shoppingcart software.. just use their merchant account quick code button generator for their products...

take a look.. goto the shop link from the top and then click on pasties or cups..

Bruzer,

But.. I stay in VSD and make movements all the time.. you know.. slide a picture over.. or make a text change..

That forces me to save and upload the 'file' folder and html pages with an ftp program.. cause if I don't it messes up half the pictures I use as page graphics..and renames stuff and does major damage..

BUt.. I do know what your saying..;)

JR....I too have to upload the entire files folder when I move or change one small thing! That can't be normal. No other software I've heard of does that. It would be such a relief if CC could come up with a way we didn't have to do that everytime we changed one thing!

I believe there is the option to upload just the changes. If you click on just the Upload button in VSD it will upload just the changes that have been made, but if you click on the Re-Sync Website option, your whole website will be reloaded.

....forgot to mention that any changes have to be saved in VSD first, before they are uploaded. :)

Bruzer,

thanks.. The site is coming along. I am now building my own shopping cart site..with the process of modifying some button code for each product.... http://www.lakehavasupoledancer.com/shop.html

I did have a good weekend.. hope you did too..

Tanya,

At first I would use VSD for uploading.. but as the site got bigger and bigger and bigger.. the self checking did took forever. Then sometimes.. it would reload stuff (pics, mp3's) and I got scared it would do that all the time. One of these days .. before I leave the house.. I'll try to use VSD to upload the site and make it all true and updated by VSD standards..
If the uload process fails.. then I gotta check the whole site and see what got messed up ..and now the site would take an hour to check..

Richard,

I know what ya mean. VSD is an excellent program for design.. Just the ease of use it its' own worst enemy.. cause you fly through pages and then next thing you know the site is soooo big. I'll look into the upload button feature soon.
