Site not updating - Post ID 108364

I am beyond frustrated and ready to switch software.

I update my site, I upload my site like I always have with no problems. However, starting a couple of weeks ago, I would upload but my site would not update. I have to delete my browsing history, delete cookies, delete web sites visited, then open the site in a new browser window and refresh. Sometimes it works, most of the time it doesn't. I then have to delete the index page, re-upload (which is the longest two minutes of my life since visitors see a file index) -- THEN it works.

What is up with this and how do I fix it? Truly, I'm ready to ditch Coffee Cup over this. Site: http://www.royalwadekimes.com

Firewalls and virus protection programs can interfere with uploads so try switching those off whilst you upload.
I know you believe you understand what you think I said...but I am not sure you realize that what you heard is not exactly what I meant.

Also check that the updates are going into the correct folder on the server and overwriting the previous files.

I had this happen as well but not all the time, I usually work around it by using filezilla to upload my site.
Did you get any type of error? did it say : you have items not used in your site would you like to remove them" (or something like that) and you clicked yes?:|

I disabled firewalls, etc. prior to uploading and re-verify that it is going into the public_html folder. I typically use Unlimited FTP, but will try filezilla next time. Not sure what the deal is. I also have not been able to get the photos in my blog to show up after the first couple of times I upload, even after deleting the original file on the server, as suggested in one of the other posts. I just gave up on that one.

"I have to delete my browsing history, delete cookies, delete web sites visited, then open the site in a new browser window and refresh. Sometimes it works, most of the time it doesn't. " That has nothing to do with the actual uploading of a site with our software. That is a problem viewing your Website. It sounds to be like you have some sort of cache issue.

Except you are unable to view the new, updated site on a completely different computer (i.e, my work computer vs home computer) after the updated site has been uploaded...several times.

Not dissing CC or ranting, just stating a fact that when I upload changes after deleting files from the server (as suggested by others on the forum), the site doesn't take. Could be the host, could be my computer, could be a glitch in the software on my computer (I am running Vista 64-bit-- which may be a need-to-know). Just wondering if anyone else has experienced this and what they did to fix it.

Believe me, I am not above blaming operator-error; just trying to narrow it down.

could it be your uploading to a different directory, I've seen people upload without changes, but find they placed their files in some other location then suppose to me, just a question! have you looked on your server to see if they went else wheres...:/

I have checked on the server and I have not uploaded to a different folder (I have done that before so I actually knew what to look for!). Maybe I'm just not holding my mouth right or something....Thanks for all the suggestions!
