You could always stick another navbar wherever you want as an option.

Thanks, but that would make 3 nav bars .... the main one, the footer string and then yet another..... too much, I think. I'll need some room for content! :D

I'll just sort out a template using VSD to match the SCC theme 80's punk. I'll start with the right nav version that comes with the default pack and see if I can shift everything around to make it left nav version. It should work OK, but if that doesn't come out right, I'll make something from scratch, and try to match.

Yeah my home page is an html external page which I've added the extra pages onto the main menu instead of the dropdown, would really be great if SCC themes did that with the horizontal menus too.

One thing I don't like about the vertical ones though is that the category listing gets really long and goes over the top of the other menu items or it stretches out the menu so that those extra buttons are really far down. I guess you gotta pick yer poison in the end lol.

You've got seven buttons nested comfortably on that home page bar, there isn't really a need for the extra pages to be in a drop-down in that layout. It works for non-shop portions of the site, but I'd want my extra pages links ( ie: shipping policies, privacy policies, terms of use, etc.) visible at all times in the shop portion of the site.

The sub-categories feature coming with the pro version of SCC out to help with the length of the category listings on the vertical layouts.

yep 7 buttons, but not on my shop :/ it really would be nice if the horizontal menus allowed us to do that like my home page is. But it's a javascript menu on my home page which includes a few other pages on it that aren't part of the SCC setup. I didn't put any of my extra pages into the SCC they are all external pages made in HTML Editor. Menu made by other program.

I like the extra pages in SCC for the legals and policies guff and only need those for the shop part of the project. I'm lazy, the less work spent matching designs between web site proper and the shop, the happier I am.

However, regarding my theme problem above. I've just realized that the blank theme - left navigation will work for me as a starting point. It doesn't hide the links, they are on the left, and there is no cart summary. For some reason, I hadn't really checked that one out. Its a really simple layout that won't be too hard to match with VSD.

That's one of the reasons I love these forums. You can always learn something new.

I hadn't even noticed there was a blank one...I'll have to have a look!
I know you believe you understand what you think I said...but I am not sure you realize that what you heard is not exactly what I meant.

Yeah, its got 4 variations with left, right, and top nav, or with the nav in the header. Its quite versatile, really.

Have something to add? We’d love to hear it!
