Having published several sites now, it has been brought to my attention that the home page listed appears as 'My Homepage' instead of the name I designated. Is there any way to change this? I'm a bit blurry on SEO and how it all works.

Look at the meta tag descriptions and title tag for the home page.

Can this be done in VSD?

Yep! Page titles in VSD can be found by clicking on the Page button at the top of the program, and Meta Description is found under the Edit menu.
